ConserVentures is supporting 2 trail cameras in the Sierra Bacadéhuachi, Sonora, to help add information to scientific knowledge of the large mammal population there. After our South Rift Game Scouts workshop, we left for nearly 2 weeks exploration of the finest parks and community lands in East Africa: up the Rift Valley wall to the Maasai Mara, across to Tanzania and Lake Victoria, then three days in the Serengeti, over Ngorongoro crater, and down to the Maasai Steppe and Tarangire Park, one of East Africa's secret gems. ConserVentures sponsored a team of U.S. Park Rangers in Kenya to teach a tactical tracking and safety workshop to 28 South Rift Game Scouts in Kenya. See the News section for the trip report. Click on any photo to start a slide show.

ConserVentures' Jonathan and Roseann Hanson volunteered as instructors for Sky Island Alliance's wildlife tracking workshop. Held at El Aribabi Conservation Ranch in Sonora, MX, the workshop teaches volunteers how to identify and record tracks for SIA's wildlife monitoring program. Data is used to help protect habitat for important species such as mountain lions, jaguars, bears, and ocelots in the Sky Island region.

Six ConserVentures volunteers traveled to northern Sonora, Mexico, to donate welding and construction skills and materials for new remote cabins.
